These informal talks happen at the nursery at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoons in our garden auditorium by the side of the gift shop.  All events are free, and everyone is welcome!

Thai Herb Cooking Demo  2 p.m. Nov. 4  Author Mick Vann and chef  Sap Apisaksri (of Sap’s Fine Thai Cuisine) will show you how to cook a traditional stir-fry (with lots of herbs in it),  and also  make a delicious Tom Kha soup.  Free.

A New Approach to Edible Landscapes  2 p.m. Nov. 11 Annie Welbes  (Subsist to Resist) will demonstrate how to incorporate edible plants into an ornamental garden, adding subtle textures and flavors to your landscapes. Free. 

The Joy of Terrariums  2 p.m. Nov. 18  Expert Dwight Littleton will demonstrate how to plant a beautiful terrarium, and how set it up to be maintenance-free.   Free.

Book Signing with English Author Lester Morris  2 p.m. Saturday  Nov 25.  Lester will read from his recently published memoir ‘The Violets are Mine’ – about growing up in orphanages in England in the 1940s.  Free.

Cultivate Your Backyard Birds  2 p.m. Dec. 2  Jane Tillman (Travis Audubon Society) will offer plant choices and other tips to make your yard more attractive to Austin’s birds. Tillman was recently  recognized as the National Volunteer of the Year by the National Wildlife Federation for her work creating wildlife habitats. Free. 

It’s Thyme to Party!  2 p.m. Dec 9 A festive party for gardeners, with drinks, music and seasonal sales.
